14th July Bastille Day 2007

L’Alliance Françasie participated in two events this year for Bastille Day !

The traditional Bastille Day Picnic of July 14th, organized by the European-American Chamber of Commerce, The association of the Sister Citys of Montgomery and the Alliance Française was held the evening of the 13th of July.  It was held at the Swaim Lodge, Montgomery, OH.  Participants brought a pot-luck plate; the quality of the meals exceeded all expectations!  The drinks (wines and other beverages) were available.  At the conclusion of the night the dance floor stayed open late to the delight of the dancers.

For July 14th, the Alliance Françasie had a stand in Montgomery, for the Bastille Day celebration organized by the town.  Delicious French pastries were prepared by the master pastry chef Jean-Philippe Solnom (chief pastry chef at the Greenup Café of Jean Robert in Covington) and sold at our stand.    Our Belgian friend Jean-François Flechet sold succulent Belgian Waffles with an enticing aroma. The stand was decorated with La Françasie and attracted the many gourmets.
