New French Conversation Group The Alliance Française de Cincinnati and the Mercantile Library are pleased to announce the co-sponsorship of a new topic-oriented French conversation group. We invite members of both organizations to participate who are native speakers or who speak French at an advanced or intermediate level of competency. The topics will be drawn from current events described in the newspaper Le Figaro. This conversation group will meet in the 12th floor meeting room of the Mercantile Library on the final Thursday of each month from noon until 1PM starting January 29th. Participants are asked to read the first article listed on the website of Le Figaro (www.lefigaro.fr) in the Tuesday morning edition before the meeting. A native speaker from the Alliance Française will facilitate the discussion on this topic. You may bring your lunch. The Mercantile Library (www.mercantilelibrary.com) is located at 414 Walnut St in Downtown Cincinnati. Nearby parking is available under the Westin Hotel (416 Vine St), under Fountain Square (520 Vine St. or 525 Walnut St.), or at the Olympic Garage (Walnut & 3rd). The Library is close to the Government Square bus stop (www.go-metro.com) for those who do not wish to drive downtown. To insure a meaningful exchange of ideas, the group will be limited to 20 persons. The event is free, but registration is required. Please email afpostmaster@france-cincinnati.com to register each month. Other French Conversation Groups
