French companies supporting more than 4,000 jobs
French companies are important business players in the Cincinnati area. By selling mainly motor engines, France is now the biggest exporter in the region of Cincinnati. SNECMA — a French company part of the CFM International Group and collaborates with General Electric — is making airplane engines for airline firms all over the world. French investments in the Cincinnati area are truly significant. Pernod-Ricard has bought the Seagram-based largest distillery of alcohol in the world, employing 600 persons, while LAFARGE has its main cement plant in Northern Kentucky. On the whole, 31 French companies are implanted in the Greater Cincinnati area, including among others the Dannon Company with 390 employees, the automobile equipment firm Valeo Climate Control (400 employees), FAURECIA (200), L’Oreal (400), SODEXHO (370), Square D-Schneider Electric (425) and the industrial cleaning group GSF (175). Considering this growing infatuation, Air France and Delta have opened two daily direct flights linking Paris and Cincinnati. In Cincinnati, investors can take advantage of the tax competition at stake between the three bordering states. |
